I dunno. It sounds nice high quality though.
It's not exciting. I guess it was like when I found that BCTV@ iTV videotape in the basement.

Yay, I managed to upload a sound file onto a subdomain. Hurrah. It's this, though it'd be better if someone didn't have a version that was cut at 33 seconds like mine did.

I've always wanted to record this piano version when they play it with the money numbers, but never got to actually doing it. Has anyone tried asking Global for sheet music of their themes?

The composer of the theme won't be too thrilled his work is being offered on the net.
It's rare and not commerically available. Oh, well.
It was encoded from TV from the sounds of it, so no worries.
It's not CDQ.

Yep, I encoded it from the videotapes I got.
They use it for the 'weather watch' stuff here.
Heh, well we have a entire website with news themes and news opens.

Has anyone tried asking Global for sheet music of their themes? I tried asking them over the phone for old BCTV news themes. Well it didn't work properly because that guy answering the phone was new on the job and didn't know... Maybe next time. Does 1-800-TVF-ORBC still work?

Hey Trent, is it possible that you could record the CTV News at Five Market theme (it's the one with the thumping bass guitar) It comes on aroung 5:20, right as they go to break with the money numbers, and after Tamara does a quick weather check...Thanks a million!

Heh, well we have a entire website with news themes and news opens. Well, those were recorded off the air, so the broadcasters and composers probably turn a blind eye on them. They're not broadcast quality, so it's not like people can use those files and pass off as a TV station. It's also not like they're missing out on any potential revenue. And I don't know about the other number, but it seems 1-877-TV4-BCTV still works (though of course they advertise it as 1-877-884-2288).

Heh, well these were recorded off the air too.
I know no one watches CHTR but it's part of the 'BCTV Resurrection Project'

Who did you call, the newsroom? They won't know. Ask someone who is an Audio guy there. Only like four or five would have access.

My favourite would be the music they use on the The Lottery numbers screen on Wednesday and Saturday nights during NHF.

Themes on Videotape? I doubt they would archive just the "themes".
