Anyone else remember Glenda Schmidt? She filled in for Sarah Daniels sometime this year, before Arran I think. I actually think she is a Morning News producer.

I think it was something like this...they were live at the PNE and she had a big group of people and kids around her and they cut to her live and the kids were making noise waving and saying 'hi' i guess and she said 'i thot i told you to be f'ing quiet when we go to a live shot' i dont know this is only second hand from what i heard.

Dagmar's swearing thing was as reported above. Glenda was a camera operator - she's out of the country for at least 6 months, so is no longer available to fill in. Amy Bell is also filling in, I believe.

How is Glenda a camera Operator? they don't have camera operators in the studio. The only camera operators they have are the ones in the field...and she doesn't look like your typical camera person.

They have one robotic camera operator at Global Studios (I got a tour of their studio and discovered this)
Essentially, there are 3 cameras facing the anchor desk, and behind a set off to the side is a small room, where one operator controls all 3 cameras.
Camera #4 in the Newsroom is controlled by the control room upstairs.

>> Dagmar was fired. You won't see her on Global BC again.
I think "Driving Television" she does with Zack is an indepedent production produced outside of Global, so you will still see her on Global (on that program), but not in any form of "BCTV News on Global" programming.

That's correct. It's produced by Tencrows Media Group. Here's their website: www.tencrows.com/

In a highly regulated industry such as television, no station can afford to have such language used during the daytime.
Good call on the first warning by mgmt, but something that is learned back in broadcast school is what is and what is not appropriate language on-air for LIVE television, radio.
CHAN is a highly respected station and can't afford to make mistakes or have slip ups in course language.
I don't believe there was such an incident like this before.
Why is this being discussed in a Arran Henn thread? =o

Why is this being discussed in a Arran Henn thread? =o Because, Aaran is more or less Dagmar's successor. Dagmar was on BCTV Morning News and then dropped off the face of the earth, so to speak and then Aaran came in.
