Ah yes, I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up....so I take it no one will be capping anything (just wondering)? Is CHBC and CFJC changing their brands to CH, or will they keep the CHBC and CFJC brands for now?

CFJC is keeping their brand. CHBC (I think) is going to turn into CH Okanagan. As of now, the CHBC website is unchanged, with the regular logo. There's no mention of CH on the website; just a yellow banner ad that says "Television's Hottest Shows Coming to CHBC" - so perhaps CHBC is being left as CHBC. I'm starting to get a feeling that the so-called "CH" stations are going to pick up local branding. The CHCH calls have been making a subtle comeback lately in Hamilton, and we haven't seen any revised branding yet on CH - but it's going to happen in some form since they can't keep the current logo forever, with Global having ditched the "arc". I have heard second-hand information from within Global that they want to move in the opposite direction of CTV in terms of local branding - and while BCTV has been dropped, we now have increased use of "Global Edmonton" and "Global Regina" instead of just "Global". So it's anyone's guess.

Should I run a cable from my neighbor's house just so I can capture anything? And, aww, though I haven't watched CHBC a lot (problably once, I think, in 2001) before but, ehh well, it's said 'Canwest Global' on its website for quite some time now. Now, to see how CH will properly dispose of its used logo.

Hmmm.... that will mean that CHEK will likely to go back to CHEK-TV with the check mark.

All of the CH stations will be "re-branding" like Global did, although I'm not sure when.

Know any details about the actual rebranding? None of the details. I imagine it will be similar to what has happened at Global...new graphics, news package, etc., but that's only a guess at this point.

My thinking would be that once CH gets a new logo, say goodbye to the CHBC brand...that sounds logical

My thinking would be that once CH gets a new logo, say goodbye to the CHBC brand...that sounds logical I'm wondering if they are even going to keep the "CH" brand elsewhere. If CHBC remains as is, I'm predicting CHEK, CHCA, and CJNT make returns. CJNT in particular, since the CH brand does not fit with a station that is more like OMNI in Ontario.

That never occured to me...but I'd doubt they'd use "CH British Columbia"...esp. with CHEK around...unless both of them were to use the CH British Columbia brand. I can't see CanWest reverting back to local brands for the CH stations. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if CJNT gets its callsign changed to something with CH in it....like CHMO (MO as in Montreal) . That would give them a common branding...callsigns with CH in them

There has been no decision made yet as to what direction to take...there are a number of options being considered, focus groups, etc., happening, models being analyzed.
As to what will be decided, your guess is as good as mine!

CHEK is still (and would be) CH Vancouver Island. CHBC would be CH Okanagan or CH Central Interior
