So Tony said last night, that the PNE prize home winners will be picked up in the Global Copper (Copper 11?). Now My Question is this just a camera man in the average old Heli like they did years past or Is it actually a News Copper? I havn't seen a live feed from it but in the past couple days they have had a lot of shots from the air in their storys.

they probably rent a helicopter that has the capability to send out live feeds to the station.
that or they have a secret helicopter that they don't brag about as often as CTV 9.

Global television news is adding a dedicated helicopter for news and traffic coverage early next month.
The Global addition brings to two the number of news choppers in the air over the Lower Mainland, competing with CTV News Chopper 9.
The Robinson R44 chopper is part of a Global airborne fleet expansion that will provide expanded news coverage in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and Hamilton.
The Global helicopter will do double duty for Global TV news and Corus radio station CKNW in the Vancouver market, and is to begin operations on Nov. 6
The helicopter is being delivered from California, and comes equipped with a gyroscopic camera-mount for television news coverage.
It will be able to transmit images to Global's receiver on Mount Seymour to provide live coverage.
"It'll be a great tool for us," said Steve Wyatt, senior vice-president of news and information for CanWest MediaWorks. "It's a great traffic enhancement for [our morning shows]."
He said the network has not yet decided on a name for its helicopter.-

Global Edmonton's getting a new helicopter too. At least that's what they've been saying on the Morning News every so often for the last week.

So where's this chopper? I've never heard about it on Global. Is the rain and wind too strong for it?

Saw it for the first time on the Morning News today.
It's called Global 1. Hmm some name huh? Katie ...forgot her last name was doing the traffic reports, but they were seperate from the actual weather and traffic segments. They were before the first commercial break and after business.
Wonder if it'll be on the News HOur or Early News?

Her name's Kate Gojdosik. She was also on the Early News yesterday (Tuesday)... she looked tired and it was visible that her forehead was full of oil... not sure if she was on today. I wonder why her segment isn't integrated with Reena Heer's traffic report on the Morning News.
