CBC has dropped Sunday Report and renamed it CBC News: Sunday night.

Ugh, what is with broadcasters dropping original titles and replacing them with less-attractive, boring titles. It's a conspiracy and a trend that has to stop.

It's going to be a bit weird too, having Saturday Report, and then this "CBC News: Sunday Night" or w/e they're naming it.

YUCK! O.K., I just finished watching it and it's absolutely terrible in every single way. The graphics, the set looks worse than the one at my school, and the content is awful. This is really a stupid move by the CBC, they really need to bring back Sunday Report!

I agree. The plasma screen angled that way and so close to the anchor looks just awful.

Well, it seems like the CBC has also revamped more of their newscasts, they've turned Newsworld Saturday/Sunday into CBC News: Today, which is the same title they use for the program Nancy Wilson hosts weekdays...what the heck was wrong with Newsworld Saturday/Sunday? heck, the only show that is still called "newsworld" is Newsworld Today, all the other shows have been renamed with CBC News. The "new" weekend CBC News: Today, now has two hosts, Suhana Marchaund and Andrew Nichols, it looks really weird because the desk is so big and they sit quite far apart, and the lighting looks kinda bad.

Assuming that things do not change at the CBC in terms of funding and such, and some uncreative name changes, here is what you will see on CBC in 2024:
6 AM - Canada State Television News in the Morning - Live from under the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto Noon - Canada State Television News at Noon - Live from a TTC subway station 6 PM - Canada State Television News at 6 - Live from a shopping mall in west-end Toronto 10 PM - Canada State Television News at night - Live from a Tim Horton's in York Region
Note that everything will be from Toronto. The 6 PM news will have plenty of local content, that is if you live in the GTA.

I've taken the CBC studio tour in Toronto, and let me tell you, there are about 100 different places that would be a better location for CBC News: Sunday Night. Even the studio for The National, would be a good home for it, just take down the sign that says "World View" (the National and World View tape in the same studio) and put up a "Sunday Night", sign. Or even better, the atrium...it's already got several lighting grids...it would be perfect.
