Sesame Street's popular Cookie Monster is going to be eating less cookies in the coming season. Instead he will be preaching moderation, with a new song "Cookies are a sometimes food". Haha, that should be fun to watch. Not. I understand their reasoning, but it's the Cookie Monster, for crying out loud! You can't do that.

Well it's the whole, reducing obesity campaigning. The Cookie Monster eating all those cookies is "promoting" (I use that term loosely) eating lots of cookies and thus leads to obesity. The talking veggies, healthier eating.

The talking veggies, healthier eating. Yeah, and what's this going to lead to? Five-year-old girls on diets. Anorexia is enough of a problem among young people. Cookie Monster is just a jest to me, I never took him seriously even when I was three years old.

Not to mention it's also the parents' job to teach their kids about those kinds of things. They can't just expect the TV to babysit their kids for them (which unfortunately happens way too much). Not to say I'm not concerned about Cookie Monster's health.
