I'm just wondering what's happened to Sandie Rinaldo. Is she ill or is taking a really long break? Usually, unless it's extraordinary, news anchors don't usually take time off for that long.
I think she hasn't been anchoring any of her newscasts or even filling in for Lloyd Robertson for at least a month now.
Just wondering to see if anyone knows because I'm curious.

Lloyd Robertson announced on CTV News the other night that Renaldo's husband passed away from lung cancer this week. It was a fairly brief illness, and Renaldo probably took the time off to be with him to the end.

Thank you for that BCTVforever - of course that's completely understandable. I'd classify that under extraordinary circumstances. That's just awful.

This seems a bit off topic but related to this thread as it's about Sandie's newscast. I don't know what this is but is CTV dropping the ball? Why throughout the night, they have Scott Laurie giving the "Coming Up on CTV News" pieces throughout the night and then have Ravi Baichwal (who's anchoring tonight and gives the "Coming Up " piece 5 minutes before CTV News. You would never see Sandie Rinaldo or any other anchor filling in for Lloyd Robertson's preview pieces throughout the night. This also happened a couple weekends ago too and only with these two anchors!
