Effective June 30th 2005, MTV Canada will be rebranded as "Razer". It is owned by CHUM Limited. The newly rebranded channel is described as "youth-controlled entertainment and information community, supporting what matters to youth". MTV Canada/Razer is/will be available to digital cable and satellite subscribers across Canada.
MTV Canada went on the air October 18th 2001, then under the control of Craig Media and with a joint venture with Viacom. In December of 2004, CHUM purchased Craig Media and exclusively had received control of all (but one) previously owned Craig stations. Included were three A-Channel stations (CKAL in Calgary, Alberta, CKEM in Edmonton, Alberta, and CHMI in Winnipeg, Manitoba), CBC-affiliate CKX in Brandon, Manitoba, and the digital specialty channels MTV Canada, MTV2 and TV Land. Sans Toronto 1 as CHUM already owns two stations in the GTA (City and CKVR Barrie), so it was sold to TVA and Sun Media.
Canada no longer has "it's MTV"

I think MTV Canada's Vancouver are in the same building as CTV 's Vancouver in the space once occupied by Planet Hollywood.

Yes, Planet Hollywood. I once paid $40 for a salad in there.

$40??? Good lord... was it any good? What kind of dressing did you get? Did it also have red peppers, yellow peppers, green peppers - and some white powder too??

It was just a caesar salad and it was delicious. This was when the place had just opened. October 1997.

I think MTV Canada's Vancouver are in the same building as CTV 's Vancouver in the space once occupied by Planet Hollywood. They're on the fifth floor of the building.
