It's live for Global Ontario and Global Quebec viewers (broadcasted at 3:30 pm daily Vancouver time), and taped for other parts, unless there is breaking and/or quickly-evolving news, like Hurricane Rita and federal government vote results, then it will be live for each region as required.

Live for Ontario, Quebec . On Tape for other provinces, unless 'breaking news' occurs.
There should be a FAQ here (on this forum) for questions like this, as this has been asked many times before. Do a wikipedia search for "Global National", and it will tell you all you need to know regarding air times too.

Also - Global National is simulcast in Alberta and BC. It goes live in these provinces more often than you think - not just when there is breaking news - it's also depends on how "old" the early version will be when it airs in BC and Alberta. A very good example is October 5th, on NHL opening night - Global National went live in BC and Alberta.

A very good example is October 5th, on NHL opening night - Global National went live in BC and Alberta. At CHAN-TV, there's only three minutes between shows to change lighting, graphic displays, etc. Amazed how it is done in 3 minutes. Early News to Global National. It's not done often.

I forgot to add this, the Global Edm news desk is kind of small doesnt seen to comfortble for 4 people. I AM THE ONE, THE ONLY BCTVFOREVER! ;D Anyways, that tends to be the trend at a lot of stations in Canada. The desks are really small and the anchors all sit together in what almost looks like a group hug. Somewhere out there on the Web there's a CKCK news intro from about a year ago, and the three anchors are crammed together. I wouldn't want to sit that close to other people in real life. I don't sit that close to other people on the bus!

Yep, it's live for Alberta. I'm listening to CHAN-TV from the radio scanner in Surrey, BC. (Freq: 185.750.0MHz WFM 230) and it's exactly the same as what I see on TV here.

It's NOT live for Alberta. You hear it on CHAN-TV because they're simulcasted (from tape) from Global BC at 5:30 Pacific Time / 6:30 Mountain Time.
Tony Parsons is on his honeymoon this week, so that's why Deb Hope is substituting for him.

Actually - yes... BC and Alberta air the same version, so if it's live in BC, it's also live in Alberta.

Okay, what I meant by live is that what you see in BC is what you see in Alberta. Because you have commercial breaks at exactly the same time as well.
