Okay, I don't know what happened, but is '660 News' just one of those Rogers Newschannels (like News 1130, 680 News, etc)
I do remember it being 66CFR...an oldies radio station.
Either that, or my radio is messed up.

Oh, alright. See, I was planning on, err, recording around 10 hours of programming on that station, then, well, I realized it was too late.

Oh, and now being a regular listener to that station, the announcers are still prone to saying '680 News...err...660' and > With Toronto's most frequent traffic reports, here's [name] > In CALGARY ... Andy Walsh (sp?) does the late nights. I remember him from somewhere else... Edit: and with that, came the "From the 113660 Broadcast Centre..." You sorta get used to where you've been working after a while, and then you move, and do the same type of news reading, and, well, you keep inadvertently announcing the wrong station.

Oh, by the way, i'm wondering here: Rogers seems to be killing the AM-STEREO broadcasting capability of some of their former radio stations - Say, for example, CFTR 680 Toronto - Kahn and C-QUAM until 1993; CKWX 1130 Vancouver - First C-QUAM station in Vancouver, until sometime around their format switch. CFFR 660 used to be a C-QUAM station as well, but they've switched for a month now and I was just wondering if anyone could confirm if they've turned off their C-QUAM unit, or if they are still going in stereo. The logic is "Oh, if it's just news, we don't need stereo" if that's the case. But I mean, if they have the equipment, all they need to do is keep it on - it takes less effort than turning it off

Mark Strashok from 630/CHED in Edmonton seems to be doing the 3-4PM news on CFFR now.
