Now that we've had a couple of days to digest the fact that Chum is cutting its news resources, I'd like to being another discussion related to this topic.
So Citytv has discontinued their 6pm newscast, and is replacing it with a national newscast that is set to launch in September. Do you guys think that this national newscast (let's call it "Chum National" for now) will be competing with Global National, CBC National, and CTV National News? And, who do you think will (or want to) anchor this newscast? Will it be someone already at CP24 in Toronto, someone from another Citytv station, or hired from another network in Canada or the US?

I cant see it making it for very long... They dont have any reporters (to my knowledge) so how would that work?

Gord Martineau will likely be the anchor. He does the CityVote Election Coverage.
