The other topic one was getting a bit long, but anyaways YES! they got a desk...and their newscast actually has some professionalism to it. They also got some new reporters and of course, graphics.

Yep the desk feature makes the show look more professional.
Who is Hudson's co-anchor?
Unless I'm mistaken, VI didn't have a female anchor.
On a seperate note, what do you guys think of the new CH Weather Machine?

I heard it was supposed to be Kathryn Shimbashi (BizFax on The New VI). Didn't watch it cos I was still at school, that's why I'm guessing.

I don't really think kathryn is a great fit to the program, she seems a bit out of place....frankly, she looks lost.

Oh, dear. They looked so out of place (not that that's a contributing factor to anything)... and I don't think she'll last long on there anyway.

Thanks for the link. And can I say: Whoa! They're using the ITV News theme from the UK. Check this out: thetvroom.com/p-itv-net-news-2004-d.shtmlDo you mind if I post this link on a British forum (www.tvforum.co.uk)?

That's weird, I wonder how much VI had to pay them. (if it is their's and not a news music composer's)

I like the intro and the use of the desk, looks so much more professional. Only thing I'd change is the live interview in the newsroom - the reporter should be sitting down at a desk as well and they should use a real camera on wheels, not the shaky handheld usually used for reports. That seems to be a common syndrome at CHUM, the use of shaky cameras.

To add on to my last post...CITY-TV Toronto even had reporters sitting at desks for interviews back in the late 80s/early 90s, even when Gord and Anne were standing up and they were at 299 Queen St West.
