Several members, most notably zacharack and BCTVforever, have asked to have this forum restricted to registered members only. I think it's best that all users of the forum have input, so as a rule, as long as 40% of the voters + Derek + I vote in support of the idea, it will become a reality and effective immediately after the poll closes, you will need to register to use the forums. Vote away!

I think you'll be throwing the baby out with the bath water. You'll be excluding people who are involved in the industry, myself included, who want to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.
But it's your forum, you can do what you want.

Thanks for addressing this issue, Tim. I know that there are a number of people in the industry who wish to remain anonymous, but by becoming a member you can still be anonymous. I know another TV forum where there is someone involved in the industry who is a member, but remains anonymous. The problem with anonymous members of the industry is that they like to promote their station (i.e. Ben at BCTV) endlessly.
I wonder if Tony Parsons has ever posted here.

I have a few questions
1) How many BCTVforever people are there here? I smell an imposter.
2) Why do people wish to remain anonomous only on this board, but not on a forum (such as Puget Sound Radio), they really don't care about their privacy of who they are. eg. Sarah and Kelly
And Tony has not posted on this board.

I have a few questions 1) How many BCTVforever people are there here? I smell an imposter. I was the original BCTVforever...I've always had the same CJOH satellite truck avatar, and I've been here for a good year. Now for awhile I was posting as "BCTVforever - cannot log in" since I got logged out one day and couldn't find my password for a long time. The "other" one, known as bctv4ever, started posting very recently.

I will attest that there's a visible technological difference between the registered BCTVforever and the unregistered bctv4ever. So, he's not an impostor.

Speaking of security. I saw a security breach while at
CIVT-TV today. The main entrance door, outside of Burrard
Street was lodged open with a wooden door stop. This
was at 4pm. I assume they lock/close the doors at 5pm,
but there was no guard or anyone patrolling these doors.
No one could be seen at the CTV store either. Anyone
could just walk in.. Oh, and also the heat from the inside
while escape out the door. Not good. Please do
something about this.

I'd vote but because I'm not registered I can't.

Yeah, that's one thing about voting - guests can't.
